Dear Valued Member,

By this time, we assume that most of you have heard of the catastrophic flooding in our hometown, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Although we experienced a site outage this weekend due to loss of power to our data center downtown, our site is now fully functional, mainly due to heroic efforts by our staff, who moved all of our servers in a mile long "ant trail" through various downtown aerial walkways. This was followed by even more superhuman efforts by the IT group, who worked all weekend in installing and reconnecting the servers in a new, high and dry location 60 miles away.

We want to assure all of our members that everything that makes our website and microfilm business possible is completely safe. Our physical newspaper microfilm and papers are all kept in our home office, several miles from the river.

We would like to thank everyone for your kind messages, thoughts, and prayers during this difficult time.

We ask that your thoughts also be with the thousands of displaced residents, including many of our employees, as we work through these trying times.

We will send occasional updates to keep you informed of the situation.

Thank you for your understanding,
The NewspaperARCHIVE.com Team
